S*x trafficking isn’t just a legal or societal issue, it’s a psychological one, too. This powerful course, led by Dr. Vivian B. Pender, will explore the enduring trauma of trafficking through a psychoanalytic lens.

Together, we’ll trace trafficking’s roots in ancient civilizations, examine how systems of misogyny, patriarchy, and dehumanization perpetuate exploitation today, and ask: Why, despite decades of global efforts, does this still persist?

Dr. Pender will also share clinical case examples to deepen our understanding of the impact on survivors.
