⏱️ Should students have an hour of recess every day?
A new proposal supported by Ohio leaders would expand recess requirements so students could receive two 30-minute recess periods per day, extending playtime requirements from kindergarten through 8th grade.
Supporters say more recess can help students get physical activity, socialize, and return to the classroom more focused. Others are questioning whether a full hour every day is realistic for school schedules that already include academics, specials, and other requirements.
📚 Schools, educators, parents, and policymakers are all weighing in on the conversation.
What do you think? Should schools require one full hour of recess each day?
