Chief Gary Lewis of the Bexley Police Department delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking address, emphasizing the critical importance of cultivating leadership within the public safety sector. He challenged attendees to reevaluate traditional leadership approaches, highlighting the need for innovation, emotional intelligence, and empathy in guiding teams and serving communities effectively.

Chief Lewis also reminded the audience of the excitement and anticipation many felt when waiting for their police academy acceptance letters, connecting that sense of hope and aspiration to the ongoing journey of leadership and personal growth. His insights reinforced the idea that leadership is not just about authority, but about mentorship, vision, and the ability to inspire others.
