We are so proud of our very own Jessica (Jess) Whitesel, a life skills teacher-counselor at . Jess was honored last week by as a Hero for Children at the group's annual luncheon, held each year in April in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Jess has spent 18 years with PEP, supporting children with significant behavioral health challenges. She believes deeply that every child deserves a stable, trustworthy adult in their life and she strives to be that person for her students each day.
In every interaction with PEP students, Jess creates space for joy, laughter, safety, and growth. For many of the young people she serves, she is the consistent, caring adult who makes all the difference. It is this unwavering commitment that makes Jessica Whitesel a true hero for children.
