North Coast Community Homes NCCH is a nonprofit working to provide stable, safe and supportive homes for people with disabilities Houses are customized to meet the needs of each person.

It is the vision of North Coast Community Homes to be a leader in fulfilling the housing needs of individuals with disabilities.​

Community based housing enables persons with disabilities to live as part of a community and neighborhood. Individuals go to work, enjoy leisure time at their home, socialize and are involved in community events.​

Our mission is critical to help men and women live their best life every day. Modifications to the home including; fire safety systems, ramps, lifts, barrier-free showers and more are made to ensure safety, comfort, and maximum independence.

Supplies are still needed to fill 100 hygiene bags that provide necessary items for those experiencing homelessness during the winter.

Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service in the United States, was celebrated on Saturday, October 25. University of Akron student volunteers made a difference in the lives of our Akron NCCH residents. The students demonstrated their creativity and helped residents to make a mosaic candle holder or vase plus served breakfast throughout the activities.

Our Story

North Coast Community Homes was established in 1984 to develop and maintain safe, comfortable and affordable housing for people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities in Cuyahoga County, OH in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. It is now also providing housing in Lake and Stark counties and in Summit County for people with severe mental illness.
