Today, October 15th, is White Cane Safety Day! This day is dedicated to celebrating the independence of people who are blind or have low vision.

When you encounter someone using a white cane:
- Be aware and yield the right-of-way.
- Give space and avoid obstructing their path.
- Only offer assistance if asked, or if you've confirmed they need help.

Let's work together to make our sidewalks, crosswalks, and public spaces safer for everyone!

Image: A young man navigates a bright city sidewalk using a white and red-tipped cane. He is wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. In the background, there are tall buildings, busy traffic, and other pedestrians. To the right, a large, elevated digital billboard displays the message: "WHITE CANE SAFETY DAY" with a graphic icon of a person using a cane.

ATTENTION Harry Potter FANS and muggles! The Ohio Association of DeafBlind (OADB) yes you read that right Deaf AND Blind are seeking to find financial support in order to bring a very special type of artistic stage performance that allows the DeafBlind audience members to finally be able to “watch” a play called “Becoming Harry” which is performed by DeafBlind actors: Jelica Nuccio, Lesley Silva-Kopec, and Jason “Jaz” Herbers (from Cininnati). The play reimagines Harry Potter through touch rather than sight or sound.

Patrons, if sighted, wear Harry Potter–style glasses with lenses painted black and are guided through the story one-by-one: meeting Hagrid, boarding the train with Ron, studying with Minerva, and flying on a broom. Each 30-minute journey is deeply sensory, personal, and inclusive.

Please help OADB being this unique performace to Ohio by donating ANY amount, which can be a tax deduction, to our non-profit organization in order to afford bringing this wildly unique theatrical troop and their performance to Ohio! Please send funds to Cash App: OADB OADB our overall need is about $7,000 to cover the basic costs. Thank you in advance! Please like and share!
