Standard Tracheostomy Care Protocols,
Best practice guidelines recommend:

💎First 24 hours post-surgery: Suctioning every 2 hours (and as needed) with 3-5 cc normal saline.

💎💎24-48 hours post-surgery: Suctioning every 4 hours (and as needed)

💎💎💎Beyond 48 hours: Frequency adjusted based on secretion production, typically every 2-4 hours.

The inner cannula should be removed twice daily for cleaning, and patients require airway inspection around the clock, including during sleep.

“Hero in a White Coat”

In Pune, a daily wage worker admitted his wife for delivery, which unexpectedly turned into a cesarean section. Worried about the expenses, he feared he might have to mortgage his house.

“Doctor, is it a boy or a girl?” he anxiously asked.
“You’ve been blessed with an angel—a baby girl,” the doctor replied.
“And the fee, doctor?”
“When angels are born, I don’t charge anything,” said the doctor.

Overwhelmed, the man fell at his feet, calling him God.

That doctor is Dr. Ganesh Rakh from Pune, who has been following this practice for the last 10 years. Whenever a baby girl is born, he refuses to take even a single rupee. Till now, he has delivered over 1,000 baby girls free of cost.

“I once dreamed of becoming a wrestler, but my mother said, ‘Become a doctor and protect these angel daughters.’ That’s what I live by,” he proudly shares.

BBC London honored him with the title “Unsung Indian” for his extraordinary service.

Blessings to this noble doctor! ❤️

✨Inspiring Moment ✨

Dr. Mohammad Yousuf graduated from medical school decades ago and has spent more than 40 years practicing medicine across Pakistan, the Middle East, and England.

This year, at the age of 71, he decided to take on the USMLE Step 1—just for the challenge as he prepares to move to the U.S. And guess what? He passed! 🎉

Step 1 focuses on basic sciences he last studied nearly 50 years ago. We’ll need to check with ECFMG, but this might even be a new record 😀

His dedication to lifelong learning is truly inspiring. A reminder that age is just a number. ❤️
