Together We Can is a retreat that offers a safe, caring space for families to remember and honor their loved ones during the holiday season. Children ages 7 to 13 will take part in creative activities that help them express memories and feelings in a supportive setting. At the same time, parents and guardians will gain guidance on self-care and ways to help children navigate the holidays after loss. Because healing happens best when we do it together. đź’™

Guided by compassionate facilitators, each session provides an opportunity to talk openly, listen deeply and learn healthy ways to navigate life after loss. We often hear families share how much the small comforts mean—a warm welcome, a cup of tea, a special pastry or a handmade chocolate after time spent at the bedside of a loved one. Each Tuesday, Tea on Tuesday at the David Simpson Hospice House offers these quiet moments of care and connection. The handcrafted bonbons donated by our neighbors at Sweet Bean Chocolate Studio add a thoughtful touch of sweetness to the day.

With the ongoing federal shutdown delaying SNAP benefits, families are turning to these pantries for help more than ever before. Greater Cleveland Food Bank is providing free food throughout November to help meet the surge in need — but they can’t do it alone.
