While volunteers were packing art supplies, they helped visitors track down a 20-year-old painting by a friend. The artwork, featuring the words “Heaven Bound,” had been feared lost. Seeing it safely preserved—and ready to reunite with the artist—was a reminder of the lasting impact our centers have on patients, families and the community.

We spent time at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center alongside fellow health care professionals, sharing warm drinks, conversation and a little extra cheer. Thoughtful cards created by the Portage County 4-H brought smiles to staff and patients throughout the hospital. It was a meaningful reminder of the small gestures that can brighten someone’s day. Moments like these reflect what health care is all about: partnership, compassion and showing up for one another. 💙
