Applewood provides mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties.

Applewood Centers is a private, non-profit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment. Services include residential treatment programs, foster care and adoption, The Eleanor Gerson School - an alternative day school, and an array of community-based services including psychiatry, in-home therapy, school-based counseling, prevention and consultation services.

📣 Big news for Ohio families: Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) is now available statewide!

Launched in select counties in 2017, MRSS has grown into a statewide network providing 24/7, no-cost crisis support for youth and families. The program helps children and teens in emotional distress get help where they are, whether that be at home, at school, or in the community - instead of in hospital emergency rooms or through law enforcement.

As the regional MRSS provider for Lorain and Medina counties, Applewood Centers is proud to play a key role in this expansion. Our teams respond quickly, often within an hour, to support youth and families, calm the crisis, and connect them with ongoing care for up to 42 days.

One-third of Ohio youth experience sadness, hopelessness, or thoughts of self-harm. MRSS means families no longer have to wait weeks for help. They can call 988 and ask for MRSS anytime, day or night.
