PHIDE MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Izabella Isaza!

Izabella is a junior majoring in Chemical Biology from Clifton, NJ. She is the president of La Alianza, conducts Photodynamic Therapy Research, is an organic chemistry TA, does hospice volunteering, church volunteering, is on club volleyball and the Salsa On2 performance team. “PhiDE truly was one of the first organizations at CWRU that made me feel like I had found my home. I felt incredibly welcomed and met many people who share the same hardworking drive for medicine as I do, along with similar interests and hobbies. PhiDE has supported me through many moments in my college career, from switching majors and finding research opportunities to providing pre-med and general college advice. Some of my most memorable core college moments have been with my PhiDE members, and these experiences have given me a true sense of belonging.”

PHIDE MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Zion Kang and Ellen Kim! 💜🤍

Zion is a senior from Dix Hills, New York majoring in Biology. She runs a volunteering club (MGSM), public health programs for high schoolers at the PRCHN and is involved in hospice volunteering. “PhiDE to me is community. I have met some of my best friends for life through phide, like my big kriti who took both of us in.”

Ellen is a senior from Seattle, Washington majoring in Nutritional Biochemistry. She is a part of woman coalition, Alpha Phi, conducts reproductive research at UH, does nutritional dates study at Cleveland Clinic, and hospice volunteering. “PhiDE was the first organization that I joined on campus and became the first place I felt like I had people I could rely on.”
