The Survival Island Showdown E-Week event was a success!
The event began with a trivia game, where groups answered questions about each of the participating clubs. Based on their final rankings, teams earned extra materials to help with their upcoming challenges.

Participants then faced three build challenges:
1. Construct a rain collector using their gathered materials.
2. Build a floating raft incorporating their rain collector to escape the island.
3. Storm-proof their raft to ensure it wouldn’t sink.

The teams all displayed amazing creativity, using their materials in unique ways to tackle each challenge. Congrats to the winning teams and happy E-Week! 🛠️🌟

Join us for our second SolidWorks workshop where we’ll cover the basics of putting parts together in an assembly! Prior SolidWorks part-making experience is encouraged but not required. This workshop is highly encouraged for members in teams doing heavy CAD work like Med Waste and Vax Carrier. Space is limited so sign up on CampusGroups soon!

GIVING TUESDAY!!
This Giving Tuesday please consider donating to GHDC. All donations directly help our teams by providing the resources for them to turn their ideas into real solutions to make a difference. It also helps support our travel team to Uganda by reducing the financial barrier for students, allowing them to develop prototypes that truly align with community needs. Donations of any size are appreciated and the link to donate is in our bio!

This giving Tuesday we invite the CWRU community to consider donating to and supporting GHDC. When you donate to us, you are supporting several different design teams that create medical devices to solve healthcare problems in Uganda. A donation of any size can help our team buy new materials, create new prototypes, and will support students to study abroad in Uganda. thank you!
