Donald Martens & Sons Ambulance Service

Donald Martens & Sons Ambulance Service For over 60 years, Donald Martens & Sons Ambulance Service has proudly served Ohio with top medical transport. Career or care—we’re here every step of the way!

Whether you need care or a career with growth opportunities, we’re here to support you. Founded in 1964, Donald Martens and Sons Ambulance Service, Inc. is one of the oldest, private, family owned ambulance services in the state of Ohio. Over the years, we have grown from one ambulance to over 85 mobile intensive care units, ambulances and ambulettes. During these years of growth, we never lost sight of our original values and traditions in providing first-class patient care, quality customer service, and keeping up-to-date on all equipment and technologies. Our commitment to service excellence goes beyond the exteriors. We recognize that we really have two customers – the patient and their family members – and that the emotional trauma to the family members often hurts as much as the physical trauma of the patient. Consequently, we believe that real customer service begins with the need for transportation and ends only after we’ve treated all of our clients as if they were our own family. It is this dedication to family and traditions which make Donald Martens and Sons more than just an ambulance service. Instead, we like to think of ourselves as a community service.

Showing up for Ohio in every way we can💙
Whether it’s responding when the call comes in or supporting families through moments that matter, we’re proud to stand behind the communities we serve. And we’re excited to keep finding new ways to give back across Ohio this year.

Good food finds its way where it’s needed most💙 Every donation adds up, every small act matters, and together we’re filling more than bins. We’re filling tables and supporting our neighbors. Thanks for being part of something great!

24 years later, we continue to honor the memory of those we lost on 9/11.

The tragic events of that day forever changed our world, reminding us of the strength, resilience, and unity in the face of adversity.

Today, we also pause to honor the bravery of the first responders, EMS professionals, firefighters, police officers, and all who rushed toward danger to save others. Your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

With heavy hearts, our EMS family stands shoulder‑to‑shoulder with our brothers and sisters in blue today.

We mourn Lorain Police Officer Phillip Wagner—Marine veteran, devoted husband and father—who lost his life after a brutal ambush on July 23 and passed the next day at just 35 years old.

Every 911 call reminds us how deeply EMS and law‑enforcement threads are woven together. We arrive side‑by‑side, protect each other on scene, and carry the weight of those moments long after the lights fade.

Please hold the Wagner family and the entire Lorain Police Department in your thoughts. If you’re able, please support his family through their official GoFundMe “Donate to Officer Phil Wagner’s Family for Immediate Relief.”
