Y-Haven offers healing and hope to women and men in need of addiction treatment, temporary housing, vocational services, case management, and permanent housing.

For many of our neighbors across Greater Cleveland, daily life feels heavier than ever.

Budget cuts, Medicaid changes, and rising healthcare costs are creating real barriers to care and stability. For individuals facing addiction, mental illness, and homelessness, the road forward can feel overwhelming.

And yet, Y-Haven remains a beacon of light and hope. ✨

As a branch of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, Y-Haven is one of Ohio’s largest treatment and housing programs, serving more than 200 individuals at a time. Since 1993, Y-Haven has provided addiction treatment, mental health support, transitional housing, and critical social services to some of our most vulnerable neighbors.

Every day, people come through our doors seeking stability, dignity, and a second chance. Guided by YMCA values, we are committed to building a culture of healing, community, and hope and your support makes this work possible.

Your gift to Y-Haven helps provide:
• A safe bed for someone with nowhere else to turn
• Counseling and recovery services that rebuild lives
• A supportive community that restores dignity and hope

Now more than ever, your support matters. When you give to Y-Haven, you help ensure that healing, stability, and second chances remain possible for all.

👉 Please consider making a gift today and help keep that hope shining bright:

We’re grateful to share that the YMCA of Greater Cleveland has received $590,000 in state funding to support life-changing youth programs right here in our community.

These funds will be invested directly in programs like Y-Leaders and Youth & Government, which help young people build leadership skills, confidence and a strong sense of civic responsibility. Through these experiences, teens learn how to use their voices, engage with their communities and grow into thoughtful, informed leaders.

This investment strengthens our ability to serve youth today while preparing the next generation to lead with purpose. Thank you to our partners and advocates who continue to believe in the power of youth development at the Y.

The holidays can be a time of joy—but they can also be a time of struggle. At the Y, we believe everyone deserves the chance to rebuild, reconnect and move forward with hope.

That’s why Y-Haven, our addiction recovery and transitional housing program, is such an important part of our mission. Every day, men working through recovery find stability, support and the belief that a better tomorrow is possible.

Our President & CEO, Timothy Hilk, wrote a new article about the power of second chances, especially during the holiday season. It’s an inspiring reminder of what community can do.

By Timothy Hilk, President and CEO, YMCA of Greater Cleveland The holiday season is often called a time of reflection. We look back on the year that’s ending and ahead to the year that’s about to begin.

Proposed county budget cuts could significantly reduce funding for mental health and addiction recovery services — including support for Y-Haven, which helps men rebuild their lives with housing, treatment and stability.

These cuts could mean fewer beds and longer wait times for those seeking recovery.

🧡 Everyone deserves a chance to heal.

Today we celebrated the heart of our Y—our incredible staff!

At our latest Service Awards luncheon, we recognized team members who have dedicated between 5 and 30 years to the YMCA of Greater Cleveland. These individuals serve in roles ranging from aquatics and fitness to group exercise, social work and counseling at Y-Haven.

Each honoree shared their personal journey with our President and CEO, Timothy Hilk, reflecting on what drew them to the Y and how their work fosters well-being and belonging for our members and participants.

Please join us in congratulating these remarkable staff members for their commitment to strengthening our community in spirit, mind and body!
