Today we’re celebrating my grandfather, Opa, turning 93!!

These photos are from Tenerife in the Canary Islands, surrounded by family and friends, good food, and plenty of love. I wish I was there at that table with him, but seeing these moments shared means everything.

Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday and a good start to the new week. We’re heading into Christmas week with kids out of school, families traveling, and a lot of moving parts. I just wanted to say safe travels to everyone and send a little holiday spirit your way.

I want to take a moment to highlight someone doing real good in our community.

LaErica has an incredible heart for service and has stepped up to lead a food event on December 28th right here in Cleveland for those in need. When she found herself a little short on funds, we were able to help cover that gap so she could focus fully on what matters most. Making sure people are cared for.

This is the kind of work that deserves to be seen and supported. She is a legitimate nonprofit and does accept donations and grants for anyone who feels called to help or get involved.

Community looks like this. People showing up for people. Help me lift her up and support the work she is doing!

This place is home to my family. Tenerife, Canary Islands.

My mom’s side is from the island. She was born here before moving to Germany as a little girl. After my grandmother passed when I was three, my grandfather returned to Tenerife. Not long after, we found ourselves in America. Fort Hood, Texas.

I’m not there, but the photos they share keep me connected to the memories, the people, and the life that continues there.
