I remember how we used to have our Squint Meet every Friday at Sankara Nethralaya (Chennai, India). We always looked forward to them for two reasons:
1. We got to learn something new every week beyond our day-to-day clinical work, OPD and patient case findings — whether it was a new treatment technique, a check-up regimen, or learning from experiences of pioneers in the field! 🤓🧐👩⚕️!
2. And of course… it was Friday evening! If you were in the squint meeting, it meant you were going home right after — the perfect start to the weekend 😂!
Now, at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute, we have Ophthalmic Research Departmental meetings every Friday at 11:00 AM — and I look forward to them with the same eagerness and craving to learn. And I do learn!
Today, my colleague Ibrahim presented on “Advanced Binocular Amblyopia Treatments Using Eye Tracking Technologies” — and it was absolutely LIT! 🔥👏
I’m genuinely grateful — to my passion, my work, my patients, my mentors, my colleagues, and to myself — for keeping me grounded and always hungry to learn & grow.
Learning never ends. And it shouldn’t. Being too comfortable is boring for me — and honestly, I love that about myself.🫶🏼
Keep learning, keep growing.
Here’s a sneak peek of the seminar hall (before it gets crowded 😉😃)! Happy Friyay!
