Public health isn't just policies and programs. It's people.

The CASAC working to destigmatize addiction.
The community health worker making sure no one falls through the cracks.
The pharmacy tech ensuring every dose is safe, every time.

And right now, we need more of them.

This National Public Health Week, we're recognizing the people who keep our communities healthy, and the one who feel called to step into public health roles.

Because healthcare doesn't just need hard workers. It needs hard workers with heart.

Access to healthcare is the foundation of the Caring Gene® Program. We believe everyone deserves an opportunity to live a healthy life, and that requires access that doesn't just happen on its own.

It takes an entire community of people choosing to make a difference or offer a helping hand, choosing to be a steady, compassionate presence when it matters most.

This 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we’re reminded that “health for all” starts with ordinary people who decide to help their neighbors—and often make an extraordinary impact in the process.

Whether you're already working in healthcare or feeling called to do more: You can help create the access that'll build a healthier future for everyone.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

Today we recognize the doctors whose expertise, leadership, and commitment guide patient care across our healthcare system.

But no doctor stands alone.

Behind every physician is a team—medical assistants, respiratory therapists, pharmacy technicians, community health workers, nurses, and social workers—to ensure patients receive comprehensive, coordinated care.

All of us at Caring Gene® are proud to support the education and advancement of these essential healthcare professionals. Because when the entire care team is strong, patients and communities are stronger, too.

Thank you to our doctors, and every member of the healthcare team who makes healing possible.

For anyone considering a career in social work, Christopher John's advice is simple: “Try it.”

The work will continue to evolve as society evolves, so there will always be something to learn or improve. If you’re drawn to helping people navigate tough times, or have a passion for making change, social work may be the calling for you.

“This profession gives back,” Chris says, “not just to the world, but to you, too.”

Here at the Caring Gene® Program, we've always known that strong teams produce the very best outcomes—and that's especially true when it comes to patient safety.

𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 is a reminder that protecting patients is about collaboration. When care teams, patients, and families communicate openly, ask questions, and share responsibilities, safety improves, and so do patient outcomes.

Thank you to the dedicated healthcare workers in Upstate New York who work hard every day with the understanding that trust, transparency, and teamwork save lives.
