The NPA is the only state-wide nurse practitioner association in NY State and represents all NPs across the state.

Nurse Practitioners at Work in the Community

Oct 4, 2025 - Region 2 Director Dr. Desiree' Branson, DNP, FNP and Sandy Glantz, FNP were out meeting members of the community at the family health and wellness fair hosted by Assemblyman Josh Jensen in Greece, NY at The Center at Greece Town Hall. Desiree and Sandy are members of the Allergy Advocates NY speaker's bureau. They talked to the public about anaphylaxis and the importance of using epinepherine to save lives, the organization's educational offering - Epi Near You New York (italic), and legislative advocacy done by Allergy Advocates NY.

The NPA Region 1 team, led by member Maggie Spadinger, participated in the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention's Out of the Darkness walk on Saturday, September 20th. This annual event raises awareness and funds for su***de prevention, emphasizing mental health support and community involvement. Maggie and her team joined others to honor loved ones lost to su***de and support those struggling with mental health challenges. The walk highlights the impact of su***de and offers a chance for participants to connect and show solidarity, reducing the stigma around mental illness.

In this photo, approximately 150 NPA members gathered in the Spring 2017 at the Capital of New York State, Albany, to discuss important legislation that will increase access to care.
