🚑 Teamwork Above & Beyond 🚑

We want to take a moment to recognize Dylan and Hunter for truly going the extra mile this week.

During a long‑distance transport, one of our crews experienced a flat tire on a remote back‑country road—while a patient was still on board. As leadership worked quickly to ensure patient safety and continuity of care, Dylan and Hunter didn’t hesitate to step up.
They volunteered to drive three hours each way, after hours, to assist the stranded crew, change the flat tire, and help get everyone safely back on the road. That kind of selflessness and commitment speaks volumes about who they are and what this team stands for.

This is teamwork in action. This is dedication to the mission. This is how we keep our ambulances rolling and our patients protected.

Thank you, Dylan and Hunter, for your professionalism and willingness to answer the call—proving that sometimes even medics need rescuing. 👏

Join us in wishing a very happy retirement to Mickie Kelly!

Mickie has been a cornerstone of our agency since April 1994. For 32 years, she has served the residents of Ontario and surrounding counties with professionalism and heart. Whether she was answering the radio or managing the office, Mickie’s dedication never wavered.

She leaves behind a legacy of mentorship and friendship that has shaped the very culture of FLA.

Last night, the Ontario County Safety Council held its annual awards banquet, and we couldn't be prouder of our Finger Lakes Ambulance team. Several of our own were recognized for their incredible life-saving efforts:

Brian Ocque & Brianna Beihler received awards for their rapid intervention when a Safety Council member suffered a severe allergic reaction. Their training and composure turned a potential tragedy into a success story.

Makenna Hansen & Kirsten Hurlburt were honored with a CPR award for their work on a critical call at the Geneva lakefront. Their skill gave a family precious time together during a difficult moment, embodying the true spirit of "patient-centered care."

Tom Pierce & Johanna Marchenese were recognized for a successful CPR save in Manchester! While they couldn’t be there in person to accept their awards, their impact on the community is felt every day.
