Finger Lakes Visions of Hope

In 1998 Shari Hall Smith extended an invitation to Margaret Walker Lorenzetti, manager of Finger Lakes Breast Care and Ramona Ross to help create a ceremony inducting and celebrating 13 breast cancer survivors from the Finger Lakes region into Smith’s newly established group, Faces of Hope.

The Face of Hope, now known as Visions of Hope (est. 2002) induct new members every two years. These inductees are women who have been diagnosed with, and treated for breast cancer, while also devoting themselves to spreading the word about the importance of early breast cancer detection and intervention — as well as never giving up hope. They’re highly honored for their indomitable spirit, zest for life and passion for a cure.

Their goal is to education people regarding the importance of self-breast exams, the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, the importance of recognizing these symptoms and the knowledge to seek help as soon as possible.

This year Visions will be celebrating their 20th induction with a special ceremony on Monday October 7th, 2019 at the Geneva Ramada.
