While walking my dog, Koko this morning, we walked under a tree,
as the wind gently blew and showered us with a blanket of beautiful falling orange leaves. Life is ceaseless change.

The Tao of Heaven

Taiji is traditionally explained by the sun's relationship with the Earth to produce light (Yang) and cast shadows (Yin), but maybe we should explore deeper into it's true nature, and how it's magnanimous virtues should be applied to our practice. Taiji is not religion, morals, ethics, or philosophy. It is a means to understand the workings of Tao (everything in the universe). After observing reality, we are free to interpret and apply it's teachings in any way we see fit.

Our Sun is one of trillions of stars throughout the universe. It will offers its warmth and light continuously without interruption, until like all stars, finally burns out. It gives freely and unconditionally to all casting no judgements. It asks no obedience or sacrifice. It will be with us to the end of all time.

Unlike humanity it is Wuji, void and empty of all Yinyang discrimination. If the sun could be controlled by men, clearly there would be those who bask in it's radiant brilliance, while others would be forced to suffer in the dark and cold. It would be a commodity. People may worship God, but few follow this example of God's selflessness. It is too idealistic and difficult to live by. Instead the blessed covet in times of shortage and waste in time of plenty.

Unfortunately, many people don't realize Taiji is inclusiveness. There is absolutely nothing too small or too grand that it does not include. We are just as much what we hate and reject, as what we choose to love and accept. This is what is meant by being enlightened. Now that we know the truth, how will we proceed? This is practice.

The Immortal Man Points the Way

The energy of Tao, Qi is found in the relationship of Heaven above and Earth below with Humanity in between.

"As above, so below."

The energy of Humanity is found in the relationship of our physical and spiritual self with other people, the Earth and the totality of the universe. There is no yin without yang and no yang without yin. There is no self without other and no other without self.

"As within, so with out."

The Spiritual Zhi, Will of Humanity is found in the relationship of our Jing, body, and Shen, spirit to replenish our energy, Qi and accomplish our desire to be a benefaction to all. What did others leave for us upon our birth? What will we leave for others upon our death? This is the legacy of immortality. Vast and selfless like space and time.

The practice of Taiji requires an alchemy of change between Heaven, Humanity, and Earth. Everything is in a state of constant change; impermanence. It is how we stay aware (living in the present) and our actions or inactions that determine the results of our practice.

What is Qi? In regard to being human, the energy that gives us life. Once lost, it cannot be restored.

When we ask of others, we expect to receive, but when others ask of us, why are we so reluctant? Balance is in both directions.

I practice daily to continuously return back to my natural wholeness. Daily life slowly breaks me down into chaotic parts and states.

I strive to go beyond my materialism and expand into the vast realm of spiritualism.

There is no self without other. There is no other without self. Relativity is not opposites, but interconnected and interdependent poles of the whole.

Nothing is simple. Working from the Center, my multidimensional reality can be balanced and harmonized.

Matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed, but simple transform for one state into another state. My practice is an alchemy to understand and gain control over change.

Harmonizing our own Internal Practice

Internal Qigong is a subjective study and practice. This means our practice does not need to be validated by anyone else. It is private and self-directed. It is your choice to gravitate towards the extremes of dogmatic analytic materialistic science, or the pragmatic spiritual metaphysical occult. Where practice takes you is our own journey.

Qigong is a form of mind-body alchemy that predates science. It is a combination of the physical and the spiritual. To transform the body, we have to transform the mind. Everything is in a constant state of change. Impermanence. As entropy, everything is slowly returning to it's original state. In practice, we are mostly engaged in maintaining what we possess, letting go of what we don't need, and attempting to transform into a higher state of existence.

One objective is longevity. Graceful aging to retain our abilities at the highest level for as long as possible. Practice does mean working harder, but learning to work less and be more effective and efficient. Instead of seeking more and more, we learn to make more out of less, not waste what we already have, and obtain more of a benefit with less loss.

The method to do this cannot be found in a book or be taught by a teacher. It is found in each of us through our daily practice. As students we seek out other cultivators and learn about their practice. What works for them, might not work for us. Practice has a lot to do about discovering the path. We experiment on ourselves. No one can go inside our selves, except our selves. We are all different and unique. Reality is not simple and cannot be reduced to a means for all.

Ask yourself, what do I desire?
Then formulate a practice that attains that goal.
Be the change. It is an exciting adventure.
