This poem by one of the youth we serve reflects the change in mindset community-based care can bring.

Right now, the existence of community-based care has met its own fork in the path. It can stay locally accountable, or it may become privatized and limited in its capabilities.

Help us protect effective, locally-managed mental health care by taking action here: https://cmham.org/advocacy/take-action-now/?

As a Community Mental Health Service Program, we’re committed to providing locally run mental health and substance use prevention services for everyone who needs them. Senator Stabenow and Representative Rheingans are right — we must protect this system.

The MDHHS plan to privatize community health services risks cutting essential programs and limiting access to care.
