Thanksgiving Eye Safety Tips From Midwest Vision Clinic

Thanksgiving is a time to gather, cook, and celebrate — but it’s also a day when unexpected eye injuries can happen in the kitchen and around the home. A few simple precautions can help keep your holiday both happy and safe!

1. Chopping veggies? Keep your cutting board stable and your eyes protected from flying pieces.
2. Cooking with oil? Watch out for hot splatters — they can cause painful eye burns.
3. Holiday decorating or cleaning? Dust and debris can easily irritate your eyes.
4. Kids running around? Make sure sharp objects and utensils stay out of reach.
5. Seasonal allergies acting up? Use artificial tears to help soothe irritation.

If you experience redness, pain, or vision changes during the holiday, don’t wait — reach out to one of our eye care professionals.

From all of us at Midwest Vision Clinic, we’re thankful for our wonderful patients and wish you a warm, safe, and clear-sighted Thanksgiving!
