When it comes to addiction, the biggest barrier isn’t willingness, it’s access.
According to the latest SAMHSA National Survey on Drug Use and Health:

Over 48 million people in the U.S. had a substance use disorder in 2024.
But only 1 in 5 people who needed treatment actually received it.

That means millions of people were ready for help… but never made it into treatment.

Some couldn’t find a bed.
Some couldn’t afford care.
Some didn’t know where to turn.
And some, far too many, were simply left waiting.

Inpatient rehab isn’t just a service.

It’s the difference between relapse and recovery… between despair and stability… between isolation and hope.

Our Story

Freedom House New Jersey, founded in 1986, provides four innovative model programs for those suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders: long-term residential treatment in a halfway house setting to adult males; Transitional/sober living programs for men; The Family Afterward a transitional program that provides intensive case management for women who are recovering from alcoholism and/or drug addiction and who are seeking reunification with their children; and the two outpatient locations for men and women who are in need of treatment, but also need to maintain their careers and family life during the recovery period. Freedom House is committed to saving lives and reuniting families by keeping our doors and minds open, our staff engaged and our mission alive.
