⚠️ WINTER WEATHER ALERT ⚠️

Anderson County Emergency Management is closely monitoring the potential for significant winter weather that could impact our area this weekend. This system may bring snow, ice, or a combination of both.

We are actively coordinating with our state and local partners to determine what actions may be needed as the situation develops.

According to UUS National Weather Service Morristown Tennessee impactful wintry precipitation looks likely for Anderson County. However, there remains significant uncertainty regarding the exact type and amount of precipitation. We expect forecast updates throughout the week and will share information as we receive it.

Anderson County EMA urges residents to start preparing NOW!

✅ Check your supplies: 1 gallon of water per person/per day (plan for 2-4 days). Don’t forget pets and livestock!
✅ Medications: Ensure you have a 3-5 day supply of prescriptions and medical necessities.
✅ Winter Kit: Check flashlights, batteries, blankets, and power banks.
✅ Vehicles: Fuel up ahead of time. Check tires, wipers, and washer fluid.
✅ Heating Safety: If using alternative heat sources (kerosene, wood), ensure proper ventilation. NEVER run generators, grills, or fuel-powered equipment indoors. Now is a good time to fill propane tanks if needed!
✅ Power: Be prepared for potential outages caused by ice, downed trees, or power lines. Keep phones charged and have a power bank or car charger just in case.

🚗 Travel Warning: Roads may become hazardous or impassable. Plan to limit travel once precipitation starts, especially in higher elevations and on secondary roads.

Prepare now rather than waiting until conditions worsen. Reach out to ACEMA with any questions!

BE PREPARED, NOT SCARED.

Anderson County EMS was recently approved by the state of TN to add the Community Paramedicine course to our initial classes at our training center. There was 11 providers that completed the course, including ACEMS employees, and other several others from neighboring services. A community paramedic is able to provide patient evaluation, medical advice, treatment for medical conditions, and referrals in out-of-hospital settings, often called “Mobile Integrated Healthcare”. This is an in-home approach to chronic disease management, wellness and prevention, and assisting patients with available services to prevent reoccurring hospital visits. They completed extra training in primary care, as well as public and mental health. pictured below is Director Nathan Sweet, Scott Prosise, Phillip Kirkland, Patrick Donnelly, Scott Thomas, Joe Herrell, Brian Rozmus and Devin Burnett. Not pictured, Ryan Carpenter, Mark Brown, John Wells, and Paige Cordell.

Congratulations Brian Rozmus on his promotion to rank of Lieutenant. Brian previously worked at ACEMS 2013-2017 and left his position as Lieutenant when he moved to Texas and continued his career at Austin Travis Co EMS. We were so excited when he returned last year!
