Clinton Human Services

Clinton Human Services To maximize the quality of life in our community by providing intervention and prevention programs for Clinton youth and families.

The Clinton Youth & Family Service Bureau was started in 1987 through the dedicated volunteer efforts of town Clinton youth and family services building residents and key school personnel. The initial town funding for the Bureau began in 1989, allowing for the hiring of a part-time coordinator. Today the Bureau’s staff consists of a full-time Director, Clinician, Program Coordinator, Prevention Specialist and a part-time Office Administrator. The majority of the Bureau’s funding comes from the town. Town funding, combined with state and federal grants, have allowed for the Bureau’s expansion of programming and staff. Partial funding is also provided by the State Department of Education and the Office of Policy and Management.

Clinton Human Services is excited to share the newest episode of our Parenting in Our Community podcast. This episode is one of eight conversations we have recorded so far, each focused on topics that impact families in our community.

In this episode, we speak with Marissa, a homeschooling mom of three, about what homeschooling looks like for her family, how creativity and hands-on learning shape their approach to education, and some of the current conversations happening around homeschooling legislation. It is an informative and thoughtful discussion that highlights an important reminder: at the end of the day, most parents want the same thing: to raise healthy, supported, and capable children.

The goal of Parenting in Our Community is to create a space where parents can learn about resources, hear different perspectives, and feel supported in the many challenges and joys that come with raising children.

We would love to hear from you. What parenting topics would you like us to talk about in future episodes?
