We’re so grateful for the expertise Sadie brings to Mountain Laurel Physical Therapy. Through advanced training in pelvic health, pregnancy and postpartum rehabilitation, dry needling, and movement-based treatment, she helps us better support women dealing with pelvic pain, core dysfunction, bladder and bowel concerns, and pregnancy or postpartum-related symptoms.

Sadie’s continued investment in learning reflects the kind of care we want every patient to experience—thoughtful, individualized, and grounded in both compassion and clinical excellence. We’re proud to have her on our team. 🤍

Dizziness is often benign — but sometimes it’s a sign of something life-threatening.

Recently, one of our physical therapists, , recognized critical red-flag symptoms during an evaluation and ensured a patient received immediate medical care. Because of that quick recognition and action, a life was saved.

We are incredibly proud of our team and the level of care they provide every single day. Thorough evaluations and listening closely to our patients truly matter.

Dizzy? Here’s the twist: it might be more than one thing. 🌀

✅ Vestibular migraine can create ongoing dizziness, motion sensitivity, imbalance, head pressure, and sensory overload.
✅ BPPV causes brief spinning when you roll in bed, look up/down, or change positions.

And yes—they can happen together.
In fact, people with vestibular migraine can experience BPPV more often, which is why some episodes feel very “crystal-y,” while others feel more like that migraine woozy/foggy dizziness.

🕶️ These vestibular goggles help us catch eye movements that your body can’t fake—so we can figure out what’s driving your symptoms and treat the right thing.

If you’re tired of guessing, we’ve got you.

ENT is often the first stop when dizziness hits—because so many causes start in (or show up in) the inner ear. 👂🌀

In my interview with Dr. Ashley Bauer at MercyOne ENT, we talk through common pathways she evaluates and diagnoses, like:
✨ vestibular hypofunction/vestibulopathy
✨ “crystal” issues (BPPV)
✨ fluid/pressure changes
✨ migraine + headache-related dizziness
✨ sinus contributions

Dr. Bauer is one of our most trusted resources in the Des Moines metro for otolaryngology concerns, and she also shares how physical therapy can help treat and manage many of these conditions—especially when symptoms linger, recur, or impact daily life.

"I had a great experience with Annette. I have been battling motion sickness/dizziness for decades. As soon as two weeks with Mountain Laurel, the therapy was working and I was able to start enjoying things I dreaded including amusement park rides, boats and sitting in the back seat of a vehicle without feeling terrible. I have already referred a co-worker."
