Inpatient rehabilitation hospitals provide intense speech, physical and occupational therapy to prepa

We offer specialized treatment programs for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation and orthopedic injury as well as other injury and illness. Our rehabilitation programs are centered around the individual needs of each patient to improve health, function and quality of life. Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities differ from other post-acute options most notably in the amount of therapy offered and medical oversight provided. We offer specialized therapy, rehab-trained nursing care, rehabilitation physician involvement and disease state management tailored to our patient population. Our patients receive at least 3 hours of therapy at least 5 days each week.

After surgery, Jody was terrified to come to MercyOne Rehabilitation Hospital after a previous experience at a skilled nursing facility, but after a visit from a Clinical Liaison and a recommendation from her orthopedic surgeon she reluctantly agreed.
When she admitted in early January, she needed 3 staff members to assist her with transfers. After just a few days she felt mentally and physically stronger and after a week, she was able to transfer out of bed without assistance and walk 63 feet using a front-wheeled walker.
Jody is discharging home today completely independent. She conquered her fear of stairs and is walking almost 400 feet without a rest break. Her inspiring rehab journey wouldn't be possible without the encouragement of her therapy team, Ali, Physical Therapist and Michelle, Occupational Therapist. Jody said this about her inpatient rehab stay: "There is not one single person here that didn't go above and beyond. Everyone was absolutely amazing. They want you to succeed and do everything possible to help you meet your goals."
