A NOTE FROM THE PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR

To the Providers and Staff of Women’s Medical Center

It has been my honor and privilege to work with each and every one of you. In the 11 years I’ve been here, we have weathered the storms, provided excellent patient care and have always, in all ways, supported this community.

I have seen many of you grow your skills, make new friends, strengthen existing friendships and do more than you thought you were capable of doing. I wish each and every one of you much success in life, both personal and professionally.

Lonnie Ray
Practice Administrator

Patients of Cristy Walsh will be pleased to know that she is committed to continuing her work in women’s health care at Roosevelt General Hospital Clinic. To make an appointment with Cristy after June 10th, call 575-356-6652.

A note from Cristy Walsh...

"I am committed to continuing women's health care, as I have been for the past 23 years with Women's Medical Center, and will continue hormone therapy for women and men. I have developed so many relationships with those of our community and although WMC will always hold a special place in my heart, and this has been so devastating for all of us, I’m excited about the partnership with Roosevelt General Hospital in allowing me to continue my practice as I did at WMC!"

To Our Patients

It is with a sense of deep sadness and regret that we must inform you Women’s Medical Center (WMC) will be closing June 10, 2022 and we will be unable to meet your medical needs after this date. WMC has provided care in this community for 35 years, founded by Dr. Bruce Cross. Since the untimely and unfortunate passing of Dr. Cross, we have made every effort to recruit OB/Gyn physicians. This is a difficult region and state for recruiting. After 30 years of dedicated service, Dr. William Moore has decided to retire. The practice is simply unsustainable with just Dr. Al Saleh and Dr. Juberg. Efforts to partner with local resources have not been successful.

Our primary concern is for the continuation of your medical needs. For our pregnant patients, we will be coordinating the continuation of your care at your upcoming appointments. We have a firm commitment from TX Tech University, Lubbock, TX to assist in and continue your care. Cristy Walsh, CNP and Melissa Sprinkle, CNP will continue to work in the community. For all our patients, resources are listed below:

• TX Tech-Southwest OB/Gyn 806-796-8537
• Covenant OB/Gyn 806-725-2229
• PRMC 575-769-7577
• Rio Pecos Medical 575-622-6322
• Eastern NM Medical Center 575-624-4646

Additional resources can be found through the NM Medical Society or your primary care physician. After June 10 and before a new health care provider is found, if medical care is needed, you should go to the nearest emergency room.

The privacy and confidentiality of your medical records is important to us and we will comply with state and federal regulations with regards to medical records. Prior to June 10, we will forward your medical record to a provider of your choice with the appropriate authorization for release of information. You can also pick up a copy of your medical records at our office. After June 10, a written request for your medical records should be faxed to 575-742-7801.

Again, we truly regret this unfortunate but unavoidable decision. Our office will make every effort to transition your care in the months ahead.

Sincerely,
Women’s Medical Center Providers

Happy Doctors' Day!
We are proud of the doctors here at Women's Medical Center who have decades of experience in making sure you stay safe and healthy.

Doctors’ Day is an annual observance aimed at appreciating physicians who help save our lives everywhere. The holiday first started in 1933 in Winder, Georgia, and since then it’s been honored every year on March 30 which was the first anniversary of a doctor using ether anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Long. Today we continue to celebrate medical advances like these and thank all doctors everywhere who’ve spent so much time and energy mastering their field of expertise.

February is American Heart Month, to bring awareness of the risks of heart disease and stroke. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women.

The first Friday of every February is designated as Go Red Day, to bring awareness to heart health. We would love to feature your photos wearing red! We'll start with photos of Morgan and Sarah from the Clovis Civic Center! Share yours on this post.
