Mental Health Resources is a nonprofit providing compassionate and accessible mental health care in Clovis, Portales, Tucumcari & Ft. The need for mental health and substance use services in eastern New Mexico prompted action by the staff of Eastern New Mexico University in the early 1970s. When the New Mexico Mental Health Act was passed in 1975, the Resource Center was reorganized as a private non-profit agency resulting in the birth of Mental Health Resources, Inc. At various times in its history, Mental Health Resources, Inc. has provided services in as many as seven counties in eastern New Mexico. Currently, five counties (Curry, Roosevelt, Quay, DeBaca, and Harding) are served from three offices in Clovis, Portales, and Tucumcari. MHR is a safe space for all.

Mental Health Resources is proud to be a Cribs for Kids® partner and recipient of the Building Blocks Grant, allowing us to provide FREE Infant Safety Survival Kits to families in our community.

Each kit includes:
• A Pack and Play (safe sleep space)
• Pacifiers
• Sleep sack & crib sheets
• Books and infant safety education materials

These kits are designed to help families create safer sleep and play environments for babies, because every child deserves a safe start.

Who qualifies:
Families who receive Medicaid, WIC, or SNAP (Food Stamps)

As we welcome the New Year, we step forward with renewed purpose! At Mental Health Resources, our commitment remains clear: to meet our communities where they are, expand access to quality behavioral health care, and continue building services that are compassionate, evidence-based, and community-driven.

The year ahead brings growth, innovation, and deeper partnerships across Eastern New Mexico and beyond. We are grateful to our clients, staff, partners, and supporters who make this work possible every single day.
