This year’s 30-day legislative session in New Mexico was… a ride.

Bills changing overnight. Language shifting late in the process. Votes evolving in real time. Nothing guaranteed.

That’s exactly why pharmacists have to be in the room.

As President of the New Mexico Pharmacists Association, Micah helped lead a statewide grassroots effort to make sure legislators heard directly from practicing pharmacists — the people actually caring for patients every day.

One of the coolest moments of the session?
Legislators saying, “I already heard from my pharmacist about this.”

That’s grassroots advocacy in action.

Huge thank you to Dr. Lex Garcia, Jason and John Thompson and the NM Pharmacists Association leadership team for showing up consistently, clearly, and credibly at the Roundhouse this year.

We’re proud of thoughtful leadership that protects pharmacist judgment, patient safety, and access to local care.

And yes… the work continues. 👏
