We’re proud to share that our collaborative relief initiative has now raised $208,476 to strengthen food security across Chester County.

Chester County United Way, Chester County Community Foundation, The Alliance for Health Equity, and United Way of Southern Chester County each contributed $25,000 to establish a $100,000 matching fund, amplifying community donations for the Chester County Food Bank.

This combined effort will help keep shelves plentiful and ensure families throughout the county have access to essential food resources. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

We’re grateful to share a short reflection from Lieutenant Rodger Ollis, who attended our Impact Summit on October 21.
Hearing directly from attendees offers meaningful insight into how these gatherings resonate—how shared conversations, new connections, and big ideas can inspire collective action in our community.

Lieutenant Ollis’s experience is a reminder of why we bring partners and residents together each year: to learn from one another, to listen, and to keep building toward a healthier, more equitable Coatesville.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to an energizing and hopeful day. Stay tuned for more voices and stories from the Summit.

It’s Giving Tuesday, and your gift goes twice as far!

We’re closing out our Seed-And-Scale Match Fund, and every donation made today will be matched dollar-for-dollar to support nonprofits still working toward their full match.

Whether your main priority is health, mental health, education, employment, housing, or food access, your Giving Tuesday gift will be shared across all of these focus areas — strengthening the partners driving meaningful change in Greater Coatesville.

We are so close to fulfilling the remaining match commitments for our Seed-And-Scale partners. With your final support, we can finish strong and ensure every organization receives its full match.

Give today and double your impact: https://crm.bloomerang.co/HostedDonation?ApiKey=pub_a5322f0d-a669-11ee-96cb-0a3287177f03&WidgetId=3505152

We’re excited to share the full blog written by our Program Coordinator, Jean (Jeannie) Marie Carroll, reflecting on FAM’s first-ever Food Recipe Demonstration held on November 17, 2025.
In this post, Jeannie highlights our collaboration with West Chester University’s Nutrition Department and Dietetic Internship Program, the hands-on cooking experience offered to participants, and the welcoming atmosphere created as everyone learned, and tasted, together.

The blog also shares insights into why the featured White Bean Chili recipe was chosen, how our team supported the event, and the feedback we heard from participants who are eager for more cooking classes in the future.

Food As Medicine in Action!

Yesterday at The Alliance for Health Equity’s Brandywine Center, our Food As Medicine (FAM) participants gathered for a cozy fall cooking experience that truly felt like sharing dinner together.

Molly, our Dietetic Intern at AHE, led a live cooking demo and hands-on class featuring a hearty, healthy chili made with accessible ingredients participants can easily find through local food distributions. She also prepared an avocado–Greek yogurt crema that added extra creaminess and protein.

Participants enjoyed a generous tasting, shared their favorite soups to make at home, and exchanged tips for using up fresh vegetables throughout the season.

Events like this strengthen our community through learning, nourishment, and connection.

Thank You for Making Our 2025 Impact Summit a Success

Yesterday’s AHE Impact Summit brought together more than 125 attendees, friends, leaders, and residents, united by a shared commitment to advancing health equity and strengthening our community.

From the inspiring opening by State Representative Dan Williams to a thought-provoking panel discussion, nine engaging workshops, therapy dogs, and a vibrant resource fair with more than ten community tables, the day highlighted the power of collaboration and connection.

"Many thanks to everyone who joined us for the 2025 Impact Summit, our first and largest annual event of the year. The panels, workshops, and networking were meaningful, but the day was about more than a program - it was about sparking hope that, together, we can build communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We’re deeply grateful for the community’s support, energy, and commitment to wellbeing; your dedication is what made this day truly special." Aiza Ashraf, AHE's Senior Vice President.

We extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors, KeyBank, Presence Bank, and Rick and Debra Clark, for helping make this impactful event possible.

Together, we continue to build a stronger, healthier Greater Coatesville.
