💚Re-Introducing Katie Schultz 💚
Some people are woven into the fabric of a community so deeply, you can’t really separate who they are from the place they serve.
Katie was born and raised right here in Baltimore County. Long before MB HomeCare existed, long before titles and roles, she was the kind of person who felt most fulfilled simply being around people…listening to their stories, helping them feel comfortable, making sure they felt included.
During college, she worked at a local assisted living facility in Harford County. It wasn’t just a job. It was where she first realized how much she loved sitting with residents, learning their histories, hearing about “the way things used to be,” and finding small ways to brighten their days. That experience stayed with her.
After earning her degree from Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University), Katie went on to work at Johns Hopkins in medical research. It was important work. Meaningful work, but something tugged at her. She missed the closeness, the relationships, the human connection.
When her mother-in-law opened MB HomeCare, it felt less like a career move and more like coming home to what she was meant to do.
More than 15 years later, that same heart is still at the center of everything she touches.
Katie cares deeply about the families who trust MB. She understands what it means to want your loved one safe, respected, and cared for with dignity — because she would want the very same thing for her own family.
As a mom of four, she lovingly describes her life as “wonderful chaos.” Sports schedules, school events, family dinners, laughter, exhaustion, celebration — all of it. She and her husband Steve have been married for over 20 years! A testament to commitment, partnership, and growing together.
When she can steal a quiet moment, you’ll likely find her outdoors, hiking with her family, breathing in fresh air, and recharging in nature.
Katie isn’t just part of MB HomeCare’s story.
She’s part of its heart.
And for those of us who get to work alongside her — and the families who trust her — we’re grateful she followed that tug in her heart all those years ago. 💚
