Communication is critical to a quality therapy session. Take an active role in your health/self-care.

🤗Massages are most effective when everyone’s working toward the same goal. Talk to your therapist about what you’re hoping to achieve with the session. Massage includes a wide range of techniques & modalities. If you haven’t seen the therapist before ask about their style & what to expect. Treatment plans often work better when they’re collaborative.

🤗Massage therapy is very personal & requires trust. You don’t have to share your life story, but feel free to talk if that makes you feel more comfortable. Massage therapists are covered under the same code of confidentiality as other healthcare providers. However, a bit of quiet time will help you get the most out of the massage both mentally & physically. Focus on your breathing & allow the body to relax a little bit more.

🤗Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want. More focus in one area, change in pressure, less talking, or even a change in the music or lightening.
