All the hard work Jason has been putting in has finally paid off. The early mornings, the training, the dedication. After his interview on Monday, we’re happy to share that Jason got the job. This is something he has worked extremely hard toward, and seeing that effort turn into opportunity is an amazing feeling. Our Vocational manager, Lauren, made sure that Jason stayed sharp throughout the entire process.

Congratulations, Jason. Your work ethic made this moment happen.

And just when you thought the draft was winding down… Coconut Creek made one final statement.

They stepped up and selected their head coach, the superstar, the actor, the energy himself — Eddie Barbanell.

The crowd at FIL knew immediately. That was a big pick. Leadership. When you add that kind of energy to a roster, everything changes.

But FIL wasn’t about to let the day end without a moment of their own.

Jack stepped to the podium… paused… and then announced that John Brody would be joining Team FIL.

And just like that, the room shifted back.

Competitive fire. It couldn’t have been scripted any better.

Ladies and gentlemen, that officially wraps up the 2026 Spring Slam Basketball Bash Draft.

Now it’s time to see it all unfold.

Be there.

What an insane back-and-forth we just witnessed.

Coconut Creek stepped up and selected the most handsome man in the department, at least according to the streets. Charisma? Elite. Presence? Undeniable. And don’t let the smile fool you... he’s here to compete.

FIL answered immediately with a statement pick: Bucket, she can.

When you need a shot made, there’s no debate. You pass it to Kiana Buckets. Clutch moments. Tight windows. Big possessions. She’s knocking it down.

Coconut Creek fired right back by selecting Ruben the Rebounder. This man may as well rent property under the rim. Rebounds today. Rebounds tomorrow. Offensive boards, defensive boards, if it comes off the glass, it’s his.

And closing out the round, FIL made a powerful move by selecting Wilder.

Talk about moving with authority. If you try to post up on him, you’re going down. Strength. Control. Presence in the paint.

I guess the surprises just don’t stop today.

Coconut Creek just selected one of the smoothest passers in the game. We’re talking about Velvet Hands. The ball moves through her fingertips and into her teammate’s pocket so cleanly, you almost don’t even see it happen. No wasted motion. No panic. Just smooth, polished, effortless distribution. Blink and you miss it.

But then… everything shifted.

FIL stepped up and made a statement.

They selected Vinny... aka Downtown... aka the Coconut Creek Curry.

And listen… Vinny is pulling up from the parking lot. Half-court? Light work. Defender in his face? Doesn’t matter. He rises, releases, and the ball drops straight through the bucket.

If Velvet Hands controls the tempo, Downtown changes the scoreboard.

This draft just went from smooth… to explosive. March 19th can’t get here fast enough.

Well… what do we have here?

The Coconut Creek Police Department decided it was time to bring in someone for the dirty work. Enter Bill the Butcher — The screen-setter. The master of the pick and roll. If there’s a lane to close or a body to move, Bill is the one doing the cutting.

That’s a physical move. A tone-setting move.

But FIL didn’t flinch.

Because moments before the draft, “The Hands” were officially cleared and made eligible for this year’s Basketball Bash. And in what might be the biggest surprise of the entire night, FIL made their move.

They selected one of the most relentless, persistent defenders in the game. A player who doesn’t give space. Doesn’t take plays off. Doesn’t get cut off.

You can try to butcher the lane.

But you can’t cut off The Hands.

An artist can come in many forms. Some sing. Some sculpt. Some use a chisel. Others use a microphone.

But Jason? Once he has the canvas set, he can already see your next move. He’s composed. He’s strategic. He’s always ready. Even though he wasn’t there to pick up his award, make no mistake, he’s fired up to represent the Coconut Creek Police Department.

FIL answered right back by selecting Michael Bederman.

Not only is he known as the very first resident at FIL, but he’s also known for something just as legendary, he makes the first shot in almost every game he plays.

That’s not coincidence. That’s presence.

The question now is simple: can Michael keep the streak alive on March 19th?

We all knew it was coming.

The reigning MVP from last year’s basketball showdown, Booster, has officially been scooped up by the Coconut Creek Police Department. And somehow, Alex Booster just slipped right into their laps. Talk about a gift.

FIL has to be kicking themselves over this one.

But champions adjust.

Knowing they’d need a serious answer to guard Booster, FIL made a strategic move. They selected Gary — “The Machine.” And let’s be clear… Terminator has nothing on Gary.

Defense. Shooting. Passing. IQ. Relentless motor.

If Booster is the headline, Gary is the counterpunch.
