About Dr. Richard Lee Stowell

Dr. Stowell is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow conditions and procedures including arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery. While joint revision and joint reconstruction are areas of interest, he also has extensive practice in trauma and fracture management as well as, general orthopedic procedures.

After attending medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Stowell continued gaining his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh and is fellowship trained in shoulder and elbow orthopedic surgery. Over the course of his career, he has contributed many writings and articles as well as received awards for residency and leadership.

In addition to English, Dr. Stowell speaks both Spanish and Papiamento (language of the Iquitos, Peru) which he interpreted during his time as a humanitarian aide.
