At Health Care for Women, we’re shining a light on how diabetes uniquely affects women’s health. This month is about more than awareness, it’s about empowering women with knowledge, prevention, and tools for better management.

Women with diabetes face specific challenges, from increased risks during pregnancy to unique factors that demand personalized care. But the good news is, prevention and effective management are within reach.

Prevention matters: A balanced diet, regular exercise, and healthy lifestyle habits can dramatically lower the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
Managing well: For women already diagnosed, consistent blood sugar monitoring, treatment adherence, and sustainable changes are key to staying healthy.

Your health matters. Let’s work together to prevent, detect, and manage diabetes because when women thrive, families and communities thrive too.

Call us today at (208) 765-1455 to learn more about how we can support your health journey.

This spooky soup is bat-free but full of flavor! it’s a cozy, creamy butternut squash soup that’s dressed up with adorable pasta “bats” to bring a little spooky fun to your table. Perfect for warming up after trick-or-treating or before heading out for Halloween night.

Why you’ll love it:
-Hearty, comforting, and nutritious
-Family-friendly and festive
-Easy to make (and delicious year-round!)

Here’s the trick for the treat:
-Cook bowtie pasta, then tint it with black food coloring.
-Add little cream cheese + peppercorn “eyes.”
-Place your “bats” on top of the golden butternut squash soup.
-Pair with crusty bread, crackers, or croutons for extra comfort. Leftovers? Freeze them for a quick, warming meal on a chilly fall day.

Did you know that 20–80% of women may develop uterine fibroids during their lifetime? These are common growths that arise from the uterine wall. While they are almost always benign (not cancerous), they can cause symptoms that impact your quality of life.

Some women have no symptoms at all, while others may experience pain or discomfort, heavy or irregular vaginal bleeding, abdominal bloating, or even noticeable abdominal enlargement. Fibroids are most often diagnosed through pelvic ultrasound, and in some cases an MRI may be used to provide more detail.

The right treatment depends on your symptoms, health goals, and whether you plan to have children in the future. If fibroids are affecting your daily life, don’t wait, help is available.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Health Care for Women is dedicated to educating and empowering women about their health, and that includes raising awareness of ovarian cancer, often called the “silent” cancer due to its subtle symptoms.

One of the challenges with ovarian cancer is that early symptoms are often vague or easy to dismiss. Be on the lookout for:

✔️ Bloating or belly pain
✔️ Feeling full quickly when eating or drinking
✔️ Urgent or frequent need to urinate

Other possible signs: fatigue, back pain, constipation, pain during s*x, or menstrual changes.
If these symptoms last more than two weeks or don’t go away with rest, diet, or exercise, it’s time to see your provider**.**

Don’t wait, early detection makes a difference. Call us at (208) 765-1455 to schedule your appointment.
