My Background and Therapeutic Approach

I have been providing counseling for many years, first with people who had chronic pain and/or traumatic head injuries, then over a decade of work with adolescents in a hospital setting. In my practice, I provide counseling to adults using a cognitive-behavioral approach. This means that I help a person adjust their thinking patterns to more effectively manage situations and have the person practice and use certain skills.

I help people with mood issues such as anxiety or depression, PTSD symptoms following a traumatic experience, physical symptoms which are made worse by stress, significant life changes such as divorce or grief, and other areas of personal growth.

I am a contracted provider with Blue Cross of Idaho, Regence Blue Shield, Aetna, and Cigna. I have one or two openings for people who do not have insurance and we can discuss a payment plan.
