Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
Hello my name is AJ, I am team lead this week and it was my turn. I work in 2 East for my 2nd internship. I stock up a lot of supplies in the closet, so I will not put too many supplies in the basket. I checked the expiration dates in IV Flushes, Green Caps, and L**e. I stock the linens nice and neat in the closet and organize them. I clean the handrails in the hallway. I did Financial Literacy Graduation in Mountain West Bank and toured in Vault. I celebrated my Half Birthday in the Project SEARCH Training Room. I am Job Shadowing in Shabby Fabrics today.
Have a good weekend!
Thank you,
AJ

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
Hi my name is Liam Coffey, I am a Project SEARCH intern and this week's team lead. This week has been a busy one. We had a tour on Thursday, spent time updating our resumes for our employment meetings and worked hard in our departments. I work in CS (central supply) for my 2nd internship. I take the cardboard to the compactor, sweep, sticker items for pricing and deliver supplies to different departments in the hospital. I like being busy and working hard!

Check out our fundraiser going on now for See's Candies https://tinyurl.com/4xw6n8c6

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
My name is Joshua and I am team lead this week. I am on my second internship in EVS housekeeping and laundry. What I do in EVS laundry is folding the pillowcases, stocking the bath blankets and spreadsheets, building carts, and making deliveries. While I was working with EVS housekeeping I went to every soiled room on the first floor and emptied the trash and the laundry bags, then in the cafeteria I emptied the trash cans. I really enjoy working in housekeeping and laundry. We also had a couple tours going on this week and it went well. Thursday was our last Financial Literacy Class with Mountain West Bank. We have been learning about saving money, budgeting, and protecting ourselves from being scammed. We celebrated my half-birthday with 1/2 cookies on Thursday since my birthday is in the summer. We had a busy week and I hope you have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Joshua

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
This week was a good week, even though it was a shorter week. In the morning I start by going to the Hospitalist Office to begin my cleaning jobs. I first clean the doctors lounge and restock supplies for the doctors. In the afternoon after lunch I head to Health Information Resources (HIM). HIM is less cleaning and more office work, like removing old records and sorting paperwork. Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank You,
Nathan Wright

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,

I am Nico, this week's team lead, and I shall be writing this weekly update! We started our 2nd internship this week and we are all in our new departments.
I am in PETS, or Patient Equipment Transportation Services, which is the department that helps move around equipment and patients.
The tasks that I do in the department are restocking equipment rooms in other departments and bringing dirty equipment back to PETS for cleaning.
We also did our budget simulation this week! Budget simulation is this 1 thing where we use fake pay for our work and simulate how the money gets spent.

Sincerely,
Nico

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
Hi my name is Peyton and I am team lead this week. I had a good break and had fun! This week I got back to work at Project SEARCH. It was our transition week with lots of activities. I cross-trained with Nate in the Hospitalist Office, he will be the 2nd intern starting next week. I wore nice clothes for my mock interviews and headshot. My mock interviews went pretty good on Wednesday. Thursday we watched "Smile as Big as the Moon," it is a true story about a group of students going to Space Camp. It was a good movie and we also had time to play the Jenga game. Today we are doing business tours to learn about jobs at North 40, Pilgrim's Market, Shabby Fabrics, Northwest Speciality Hospital as well as Triple Play and the hotel.
Have a great day!
Peyton

In SEARCH of Employment

Our interns are very busy finishing completing their internship requirements. They are all currently actively looking for employment in our community. Please contact us with any job leads you may have.

During this program our student interns have learned the skills necessary to be dependable employees. They have developed interview and resume writing skills as well as a variety of on-job-skills while working with the hospital staff at Kootenai Health.
