As President of the Idaho Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, our CRNA Maria traveled to Meridian yesterday to celebrate the opening of Idaho’s first CRNA program at Idaho State University.

This is an incredible milestone for our state, and we are so proud of Maria and her leadership in making this happen!

So what happens after you check in day of surgery?

Great question! The day of your surgery you are greeted by your operative nurse and taken back to your pre operative room where you dress down into a gown and your IV is began. Once completed you will meet with Dr. Kuhlman-Wood, MD who will complete your surgical markings (shown here). Lastly, you meet with our anesthesia staff before being taken back to the operating room, and that’s when the magic happens✨

About Dr. Kuhlman-Wood

Dr. Kate Kuhlman-Wood is a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and a member of the ASPS. In addition, Dr. Kuhlman-Wood completed an Orthopedic Hand Surgery Fellowship, and holds a Certificate of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in the Surgery of the Hand. She completed her Integrated Plastic Surgery residency at The University of Washington and her Fellowship in Hand & Microsurgery at The Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX.

Dr. Kuhlman-Wood is a native of the Inland Northwest. Born in Chewelah, Washington, she grew up in Otis Orchards and on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene. She takes pride in her home-town roots and is quick to support her neighbors with her time and charity.
