New year, same you - and that’s more than okay! Whether you’re feeling hopeful, unsure, motivated, tired, or somewhere in between, there’s no “right” way to start the year. Here’s to a year of small wins, deep breaths, and giving yourself a little more grace. We’re here for it (and for you!) every step of the way.

Most of us listen to respond, not to understand.
Active listening is a skill, and it doesn't always come naturally. It means slowing down, staying present, and showing someone that their words matter. Here are a few tips:
👂 Put your phone away
⏸ Pause before responding
🧠 Reflect back what you hear
❓ Ask questions, not solutions
💬 Validate their feelings
Want to get better at it? Try one of these tips in your next conversation and see what shifts. #TherapistTips #CouplesCommunication

Myth: “Therapy is just too expensive.” 💸
Let’s bust that.
Yes, therapy can be pricey, but there are way more options than many people realize. From using insurance or your HSA/FSA, to exploring sliding scale fees or EAP benefits through work, there are real, accessible ways to make therapy affordable.
In this video, one of our therapists, Davin, is walking you through options that might be available to you or someone you know. Mental health support shouldn’t feel out of reach.
Save this for yourself or send it to a friend who’s been putting off therapy because of cost.

How do you know your therapist is the right fit? 🌟 Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Trust your gut. If it feels comfortable and like you can be open with them, that’s key. It might take a few sessions to feel this out, and that’s ok!
- There are tons of different therapy modalities and approaches. Ask them (or read their bios online) about what types of therapy they specialize in. it’s important that their approach fits your needs and goals!
- Make it easier on yourself by keeping availability and accessibility in mind. If the therapist has spotty availability, is located far away, or doesn’t take your insurance, it might mean they are not the right fit.
- If you feel listened to and appreciate their feedback, that’s a good sign. Do you want them to laugh at your awkward coping jokes, or do you want them to call you out? It all comes down to communication styles.
Is your therapist not feeling like a good fit? We make it easy to switch! Give us a call or shoot us a message for more info.
Therapy Tip: It’s okay to ask your therapist questions!
Starting therapy? Here are a few great questions to break the ice:
✨ What do you love about being a therapist?
✨ What techniques do you use to help clients achieve their goals? (e.g., CBT, EMDR, psychodynamic)
✨ Do you specialize in any specific issues (e.g., anxiety, trauma, relationships)?
✨ Have you worked with people who have challenges similar to mine?
What questions have you asked (or would ask) a therapist? Let’s here them in the comments! 👇

It can feel overwhelming to know where to start to find the right therapist. The good news is that there are steps you can take to make the process feel more manageable.
First, consider what you're hoping to gain from therapy—whether it's coping strategies, a better understanding of yourself, or support through a difficult time.
Next, find a therapist that specializes in that. You can look through online directories, or you can give us a call and we'll match you with the right fit near you. 📞🐘
Remember, it's important to find someone you trust and feel at ease with. Don't be afraid to ask questions. They're here to help you grow and thrive, and we're here to make it easier for you to get there.
Autumn's here, and you know what that means – crunchy leaves, cozy sweaters, and pumpkin-spiced EVERYTHING. But let's not forget about keeping our health in check while we’re sipping on those lattes. 🍁What fall coping skills are you doing today?

Boundaries aren't just a buzzword; they're your mental health's best friend. It's not selfish to say no; it's self-care. 💪
It might seem hard or scary, but it's so important-- copy and paste these to use where applicable:
- Direct and Polite: "I'd love to help, but unfortunately, I can't right now."
- Give a Reason: "Thanks for thinking of me, but I have too much on my plate at the moment."
- Assertive: "I'd rather not, but thanks for thinking of me."
- Apologetic: "I'm really sorry, but I have to pass."
- Compromise: "I can't do the whole thing, but I can help with [specific part]."
- The Randy Jackson: "That's a no from me, dawg."
#ProtectYourPeace #SelfCare #Boundaries #SayingNo
Nah, we're not naming names, but we DO want you to evaluate what's coming through your feed.
Ask yourself:
- Is this helpful for my mental health?
- Is this inspiring me to do better? Or making me feel worse?
Let's take one step further towards protecting our peace. Your brain will thank you! 👏 #MentalHealthMatters #SocialMedia #Boundaries
