When I was looking through my window this morning I couldn’t help but be distracted by bird p**p that was on one section. It didn’t cover a large section but it was still the focus of my attention. It was distracting me from the beautiful scenery and the glistening sunlight that was streaming through. Until I made the decision to clean my window, it clouded the beauty that I was witnessing in the present moment. I couldn’t help but draw the correlation between my life and that window. How do I view life? Am I a witness to all the good that is in front of me or do I focus on the one small area that is soiled from a past incident? Am I able to look clearly or does my focus wander back to the tiny little area that is imperfect? My intention for today is to clean the windows of my mind so that I can clearly appreciate all the beauty that is in my life. I lovingly release all resentment, guilt, hurt, anger, and the need for punishment that may be clouding my window today. My intention is to be present today and to consciously let go of anything that draws my eye backward into my past or forward into my future. I can’t do anything yesterday and I can’t do anything tomorrow. I can only do something today.
