Wanda Louise Denton, age 66, of Caney, Kansas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Wanda was born on July 25, 1959, in Mayfield, Kentucky to H.C. and Armra (Brooks) Lee. She grew up in Mayfield where she attended local schools. Shortly after high school she met the love of her life, Jack Denton. The two quickly fell in love and were united in marriage on December 2, 1978. This was just the beginning of what turned into 47+ years together of friendship, love and family that they built together throughout the years. Of this union, four children were born, J.C., Justin, Jeff and Elizabeth.

Jack's career had him working on the road and away from home for weeks at a time, so it was Wanda who took care of the day-to-day house chores and running the kids around to school activities. She was an amazing wife and mother to her family. When the kids got older, she decided to fill her time by working at the Guest Home Estates. She started as a dietary aide and found she enjoyed helping others, so she became a certified nurse aide then later a certified med aide. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard – Ricky – Eugene Hallett.

Ricky fought cancer to the last minute. He couldn’t fight anymore and passed at the age of 61 on February 7, 2026, at 6:41 pm.

He was an extremely devoted husband, father, son and friend.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Paige Keller.

Ricky is survived by his wife Teresa, his two adult children: Caitlyn Paige Hallett and Mark Joseph Hallett, and his grandson Author James Hallet. He is also survived by his father Richard Leroy Hallett, his Special Mama Brenda D. Thompson, his brother Coolidge Leroy Hallett and his sister Teri Lee Hilderbrand.

Ricky loved to spend time with his children. They remember the many trips he took them on when they were little kids. His daughter has fun memories of him taking her on his motorcycle for rides to Kahoots to get a Yahoo when she was a kid. His son loves his dad’s sense of humor. He was always there for his children when they needed advice or to get things off their chest. He gave solid common-sense advice. He loved for us to go on long rides on his bike/motorcycle. He loved it when we went on trips to see historic places. He loved walking in nature. He could fix literally anything. He could create literally anything from nothing. He has a huge heart and a ton of love for the ones he cares about. He will always be a hard worker, who takes complete pride in everything he touches.

He is such a fun and interesting person. He has told so many stories about his life so many times that I know them all by heart. He has had a very interesting life. He touched so many people. He is the strongest person I have ever known. We have always spent all our time together since day one. We only slept apart three nights in the whole time we were together, until he became sick. My heart is broken forever, but I am so blessed to have been loved by Ricky. I will be grateful to him forever. I love him more than any words can ever express.

A private family get together will take place. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute (NCI), or Cancer Research Institute.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
