On behalf of all of us here at Eddy Village Green, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for all the warm smiles and precious moments we’ve shared with our cherished Elders and their families this year. It is both an honor and a privilege to care for the Elders who truly feel like part of our family. Thank you for entrusting us with your care.

We also want to express our gratitude to our wonderful Shabazim for all the ways they support our residents every day of the year. From our Eddy Village Green Family to yours, we wish you Happy Holidays! Health and happiness in the New Year!

This time of year, we often reflect on all that we are grateful for in our lives. Eddy Village Green would like to express our deep appreciation to our cherished Elders and their families for entrusting us with their care. We are also sincerely thankful to all our amazing Shabazim and every individual on our team who works tirelessly to maintain our high standards of care. Eddy Village Green is proud to recognize Shahbaz Sheron Austin who has been named one of our SPIRIT Award winners. Nominated by the family member of one of our elders, Sheron is praised as "a dedicated leader and mentor" in House 12 and "a staff member that truly cares for the elders." Recently, Sheron saved a life when she administered the Heimlich maneuver after an elder began choking at a meal. Sheron is also known to take the time to get to know the elders, treating them like family. Congratulations, Sheron!

The team here at Eddy Village Green is dedicated to caring for all our elders and will do just about anything to put a smile on their faces. (Left) Nurse Manager Christina Bellamy dresses as "Where’s Waldo?" while Nurse Educator Tami Dzembo takes a humorous depiction of a serious topic that we strive to counter here – "Fall Risk!" Get it, lol? Thank you to Christina and Tami for bringing us some Halloween fun! You are both definite TREATS! 😁❤🎃

Eddy Village Green is proud to celebrate Shahbaz Jama Ogagan who has been named a SPIRIT Award winner. Jama was nominated by a family member of one of our elders who praised him as an "excellent chef for all the elders in building 6" who cooks their favorites and "makes dinner a great time for all the elders." Jama is also recognized as being positive with everyone and supporting their requests with kindness. He is "100 percent interested in making the elders so happy," says the family member. Congratulations, Jama, and thanks for your dedication to our elders!

Just ask Shannon Testo, assistant director of nursing and our expert on infection control and prevention here at Eddy Village Green Cohoes. During this International Infection Prevention Week Oct. 19-25, we would like to take a moment to recognize Shannon for all that she does year-round to keep all of us safe and healthy! Thanks, Shannon, for all your dedication and efforts!

Here at Eddy Village Green, we have a wonderful team that is more like an extended family, from our Elders to our Shahbazim to all the other colleagues who help keep things running smoothly, like Demetria Moshimer, accounts receivable manager for our Residential Services Division. During this Financial and Accounting Week Sept. 23-27, we celebrate Demetria who works hard behind-the-scenes to ensure that everything financial is in ship shape. Demetria, thank you for all you do for us behind the scenes every day!

The SPIRIT Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate the following qualities: Supportive. Positive. Invested. Reliable. Inspiring. Trustworthy. Jacobo was cited for his "quiet strength," patience and caring for our Elders and Shanae was honored for providing "exceptional professionalism, customer service, and a warm and inviting interaction" for families. Congratulations to both!

"She's a breath of fresh air and not just a ray of sunshine, but the whole sun and rainbow that goes with it!" That's how folks at Eddy Village Green Cohoes describe Office Manager Terry Simmons. Not only is she the smiling face happily greeting you at the door, she comforts you and makes you feel reassured in times of need. She's also the first to stick her neck out to help you solve any problem or issue. Terry has been a part of The Eddy network since 2001 working first at Glen Eddy and then our IT Department before joining Eddy Village Green. She retired at the end of 2020 but loves the community so much that she remained per diem for the past 5 years pitching in for vacations, special projects, and more. "I've always loved helping others," says Terry, "and EVG has great opportunities to do that in any role!" Thanks, Terry, for being our Rock Star!

Here at Eddy Village Green, our crew works hard to provide high quality care for our elders so Executive Director Samantha Guilfoyle entered staff for a chance to win a "Cake Crash" from radio station Fly 92.3 with "Jake and Libby in the Morning." And guess what? We won! Samantha and the staff got a surprise visit from Jake and Libby on a recent morning complete with an amazing yummy cake from Dolce and Biscotti Fine Italian Bakery! Thank you, Jake and Libby, and thank you to our incredible staff for all they do for our residents every day! ❤🎂🥰

What happens when you LOVE what you do and where you worked? Well, you keep going back! Meet our 2 "snowbird" nurses here at Eddy Village Green. Nursing Scheduler Debbie Grace (center), hugs nurses Laura Branagan (l) and Jane Clemente who were longtime nurses at the former Eddy-Ford Nursing Home where EVG is located today. Laura and Jane love nursing at our Cohoes campus so much that they return from the beaches of Florida every summer to work with our elders again at Eddy Village Green! Laura & Jane, THANK YOU both for your dedication to both the nursing field and our Eddy campus in Cohoes! ❤
