Strong wind gusts as high as 59 mph have been observed this morning, with strong winds expected through noon MDT (1 PM CDT). Poor air quality due to blowing dust is also occuring, as well as pockets of reduced visibility due to the dust.

When your body heats too rapidly, or when too much fluid or salt is lost through dehydration or sweating, you may experience a heat-related illness. Stay Weather-Ready by learning the symptoms of excessive heat exposure and the appropriate responses.

While fuels are not conducive to explosive fire growth, hot temperatures, breezy southwest winds and low humidity will create challenging conditions for first responders, should any fires develop.
