A lot of people assume that they must have an issue to come in for pelvic health therapy. That simply is not the case and could be further from the truth! 🤯

I dream of a world where EVERY single woman receives a pelvic health evaluation after the birth of her baby. Doesn’t matter if it’s a C-section or a vaginal delivery. 🤰

A baseline pelvic health assessment would provide something for a woman and her therapist to look back on, in the event that she started to experience symptoms of pelvic health dysfunction. OR… she just comes in once a year to make sure that there aren’t any significant changes but if there are, she can get on top of them right then and there before they become more drastic and dramatic. That’s PREVENTION!!

I am so stinkin proud of the mamas that are already doing this. Doesn’t matter if you are 3 months postpartum or 30 years. Better than NEVER! Ready to take action? Let me know!

Leaking when you push the kids on the swing can be a sign that you are not managing pressure very well 💦

This not only has implications for urinary incontinence but also for pelvic organ prolapse and diastasis recti 🧐

I find a lot of the time that women are not contracting their abdominal wall enough to stop the pressure from moving down towards the pelvic floor. One way to help with improving contraction is to get the trunk rotating ↩️↪️

Leaking with lifting is sometimes a matter of strength 💪

Other times it’s a matter of knowing WHEN and WHICH muscles to activate ⏱️

Sometimes it’s both ✅

If you’re throwing Kegels at the issue and it’s not helping (or it’s getting worse) then it’s probably time to have it assessed! DM ‘empower’ to find out how we can work together to achieve your goals!

Have you ever experienced those random, deep, sharp butt pains? 🙋‍♀️

It’s a type of pain that takes your breath away 😵😵‍💫

It almost feels like a knife is being jabbed into the a**s (aka bootyhole, bu****le, toothless whisperer, wrinkle star…you get it) 🔪

This sensation is called proctalgia fugax which is just a fancy way of saying muscle spasms and cramps.

Some people may notice this more during menstruation. Most of the time it is very short-lived. However, if you are noticing this along with heavy menstruation or pelvic pain this may be a sign of endometriosis. Please be sure to notify your provider if the pain is continuing regularly.

Share this with the girly who has told you about her random butt pain!
