Even if you have umpired for us in the past, please send us updated/current.

Umpires must be 13+yo, available in the evenings from 5-9pm potentially, & able to handle some adversity. Amount paid per game depends on experience and what age division being umpired.

Anyone wanting to umpire softball games for us this year are highly encouraged to attend this umpire clinic.

If you are interested in being an umpire for the 2026 MCGSL season, you are required to attend this clinic. Bring your ID and social security card to the cling!

2026 Summer Ball Season update:

The ⚾️ and 🥎 teams have been finalized and coaches have been given their roster. You should have or will soon be contacted by the coach with practice schedules. I’ll work on tee ball teams next week as registration is still open for ages 3-5 until April 15th.

Peewee softball team could use a couple more players. This is for girls in grades Kindergarten-1st, if you have a player interested, please reach out. If you know of a parent of a girl for this group, please tag them. If you have a girl registered for tee ball that is 4-5yo, they could move up. Please DM me for more info.

Coaches, please stop by city hall if you haven’t yet to have copies of your drivers license made for background checks. You were all given access to view the field schedule calendar, please email me with dates/times & I’ll get those added. Boys ⚾️ games will begin the week of April 27th, girls 🥎 games will begin the first week of May.

Scoreboard & new lights projects are coming along nicely. Thank you to Sullivan Construction and Cox Electric for working on those!

I would like to provide an update on Friendway Park…

- New lights are being installed on at least
the north and south field right now,
hopefully the middle field very soon

- new scoreboards are being installed on all 3
fields

- the West Prairie school district has control
of the fields during their HS spring ⚾️/🥎
season, please do not move any of the
portable pitching mound/pitching rubber

- please feel free to use an open field to get
extra work on. Be respectful and clean up
after yourself when finished

- if you see trash, please pick it up or report it
if it’s a bigger mess. The wind has blown a
trash can over or 2 which is no one’s fault

- be respectful to the bathroom facilities

I will be stopping at businesses today handing out sponsorship letters to support our summer ball program. If you are a business that would like to support or would like to receive a sponsorship letter for more information, please send us a DM. It is very important to get your support to help keep registration costs down, to provide equipment updates, and fund our development projects. LAST CALL FOR REGISTRATION!!!

Since paper copy registration forms were handed out at WP south elementary earlier this week, we will extend deadlines until Sunday 3/29 for 6-14yo boys baseball and grades K-8th girls softball. Please turn these copies in at UCB to Emily by Saturday at noon or you can register online still.

Numbers have improved a little since the last post.

Girls
Peewee (grades K-1st) need 4-5 more
Rookie (grades 2nd-3rd) are good
Minor (grades 4th-5th) need 3-4 more
Major (grades 6th-8th) need 5-6 more

Boys
Junior (ages 13-14) is good
Major/intermediate (ages 11-12) could use a couple more
Minor (ages 9-10) could 5-6 more
Peewee (ages 6-8) could use a couple more to make 2 teams!

Registration update as we enter the last few days to register for all age groups except tee ball:

Girls Softball
Major 6th-8th Grade - only have 3 registered
Minor 4th-5th grade - 8 registered
Rookie 2nd-3rd grade - 11 registered
Peewee K-1st grade - 6 registered

Boys Baseball
Junior ages 13-14 - 5 registered
Intermediate ages 11-12 - 8 registered
Minor ages 9-10 - 5 registered
Peewee ages 6-8 - 16 registered (almost enough for 2 teams)

If we are unable to fill a team for a division, we will merge with Bville/GH if possible.

Please help spread the word and try to get as many of your players friends to play! Since macomb registration deadlines have passed,
we would welcome any player from there as well.

Registration will close for T-ball (age 3-5) on April 20th.

Please drop off registration payments at UCB to Emily Havens. Please have money in an envelope with your name & contact info as well as the player(s) name on it that you are paying for. Fee is $20 per player

If you plan to volunteer in any form, the volunteer registration is at this website as well!

Businesses, we are still dropping off sponsorship letters until next week. You can email colchesterball@gmail.com to get a digital copy.

Several players have registered already which is great, please help spread the word. You should get a confirmation email after your registration is complete.

If you are having issues, please send us an email or DM on here.

If you cannot get to UCB Bank in Colchester during business hours tonpay registration fees, please put money in an envelope, write your name, players name(s), amount enclosed, & attn: Emily on the envelope, and put in the drop box by the drive thru window.

Here is the registration link to register all players, tee ball is for boys/girls ages 3-5yo, baseball is for boys ages 6-14 (use age chart to select which division), and softball is for girls in grades K-8th (use grade currently in for 25-26 school year).

If you plan to volunteer in any capacity, there is a volunteer sign up as well.
