🍀 A Fun-Filled Week in Asher Haus! 🍎

Our residents in Asher Haus (Memory Care) had a wonderful week full of smiles, creativity, and meaningful moments!

We got into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit by creating festive crafts together 🍀, enjoyed a sweet treat of apples with caramel in celebration of Johnny Appleseed Day 🍎, and lifted our voices during a beautiful time of hymn singing with Kelley, our Spiritual Care Director 🎶.

Moments like these bring joy, connection, and a sense of home to our community. Thank you to everyone who helps make these special experiences possible! 💚

🎉 Celebrating National Long Term Care Administrators Week! 🎉

This week we are proud to recognize the incredible leaders who make a difference in the lives of our residents every day. Today we are celebrating Chelynne Nadeau, our Skilled Nursing Facility Director of Nursing, who is marking 4 years of service with our community! 👏

Chelynne has 15 years of experience in long-term care, beginning her career as a CNA while attending school for her LPN, and later earning her RN. That journey helped shape her passion for caring for residents and leading teams dedicated to providing exceptional care.

Although Chelynne originally thought she would work in a hospital, she quickly discovered that long-term care was where she truly belonged. The relationships built with residents and the sense of community drew her back—and we’re so grateful it did!

💬 Chelynne shares:

Her favorite part of her role is connecting with residents, hearing their stories, and witnessing the genuine care between staff and residents.

She hopes families feel comfort and trust when they walk through our doors and see the kindness and compassion our team brings every day.

What she appreciates most about her team is their teamwork, dedication, and commitment to advocating for residents and providing the best possible care.

Thank you, Chelynne, for your leadership, compassion, and dedication to our residents, families, and team. Your passion for long-term care truly makes a difference every day. 💙

🌟 National Long Term Care Administrators Week Spotlight 🌟

Meet Brittany Welle, LALD, RN, BSN, PHN, our dedicated Housing Director for our Assisted Living communities. Brittany has been part of our organization for over 11 years, serving in the Housing Director role for the past 2 years. Her leadership, compassion, and commitment help create a place our residents are proud to call home.

What inspired Brittany to become a long-term care administrator?
“I was inspired to become a long-term care administrator because I saw the difference strong leadership can make in the lives of residents and staff. I wanted to be in a position where I could support teams, strengthen systems, and ultimately improve the daily experience of the residents who call our community home.”

Her favorite part of the role:
“My favorite part of my role is helping residents. Whether it’s solving a problem, listening to a concern, or celebrating a special moment, being able to positively impact their lives is the most rewarding part of what I do.”

What she hopes families feel when they walk through our doors:
“I hope families feel welcomed, reassured, and confident that their loved one is safe, respected, and cared for with compassion. I want them to feel like they are part of our community.”

Life in the Benedictine tradition is grounded in community, prayer and a shared commitment to seek God together. The Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth — who founded Benedictine in 1985 — have shaped their world through their leadership, service and unwavering dedication to those in need.

Their healthcare ministry continues with Benedictine. Guided by their example, we remain committed to serving others with compassion, hospitality and purpose — truly living out what it means to lead . We are grateful for the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, whose vision continues to inspire our work and mission.

Nutrition plays a powerful role in helping older adults maintain strength, manage chronic conditions, and enhance overall well being. At Benedictine, we prioritize good nutrition to help residents thrive with: balanced, flavorful meals, specialized diets for medical conditions, and meaningful social dining to promote better appetite and emotional well-being. Nourishing the body nurtures the spirit — and we are honored to support both for Nutrition Month and throughout the year.

Our Asher Haus residents have been busy and having so much fun! ✨

They enjoyed getting creative with a fairytale craft and are already preparing for St. Patrick’s Day with festive crafts and a fun dice game full of laughs and friendly competition. 🍀🎲

We also had a wonderful Bible study this week, with many residents joining in for meaningful conversation, reflection, and fellowship. It’s always a joy to see everyone come together and share in these special moments. 💚

There’s never a dull moment at Asher Haus!

Social work is more than a profession — it’s a calling to uplift people, defend justice, and transform lives. In long term care, social workers advocate for residents every day, support residents and families as they transition into senior living, and play a key role on the care team to ensure each person’s needs and preferences are honored. Thank you for all you do!

🌷 March Culture Concept: Appreciation 🌷

This month, we’re focusing on Appreciation, a key part of our core value of Hospitality. 💛

Appreciation isn’t just about saying “thank you”—it’s about truly recognizing the people around us:
✨ Maintaining a positive, professional attitude
✨ Listening and responding with care
✨ Welcoming new ideas and perspectives

When we practice appreciation, we make our community stronger, kinder, and more welcoming for everyone. 💕

Take a moment this month to show appreciation—whether it’s a kind word, a helping hand, or simply acknowledging someone’s efforts. Small gestures make a big difference! 🙌
