Curious about what a “starting solids” evaluation looks like at Sunrise Speech & Feeding? 🥣✨

We explore your baby’s readiness cues, oral motor skills, and comfort with different textures. We take a close look at posture, utensil use, sensory responses, and mealtime routines — all to help your little one transition safely and confidently to new foods.

You’ll leave with personalized strategies, texture progression guidance, and support that fits your feeding goals and your child’s unique needs. 🌅💛

Let’s make this milestone exciting, supported, and stress-free!

Ever wondered what an infant feeding or lactation evaluation looks like at Sunrise? 💛

During an evaluation, we take time to understand your feeding journey — exploring your baby’s latch, suck-swallow-breathe coordination, oral motor skills, and overall comfort at the breast or bottle. We also look at positioning, pacing, and any challenges you’ve been experiencing.

Our goal is simple: to support you and your baby with compassionate, evidence-based care so feeding can feel more comfortable, connected, and confident. ✨

You’re doing an amazing job — and we’re here to help every step of the way. 🤱🌅

Messy counter, full hearts!❤️ When kids join in meal prep, they’re more open to tasting, touching, and trying new foods. Invite them in — you might be surprised by the magic that happens. ✨

I'm so thankful for all the families that I get to work with! I'm also so thankful for my husband and kids giving me grace when needed, either working late or playing catchup once home. Sunrise is so fun!💕

What are you thankful for???🦃

🍽️ Feeding Milestones: What’s Typical in the First Year? 👶💛

From the very first latch to self-feeding, babies are building the foundations for lifelong feeding and speech skills! 🍼✨

Here’s what to expect:
🌸 Birth–3 months: Rooting, latching, and learning to coordinate suck–swallow–breathe
☀️ 4–6 months: Bringing hands to mouth, sitting supported, showing readiness for solids
🌼 6–9 months: Leaning forward for food, munching, self-feeding, starting cup drinking
🌻 9–12 months: Holding a cup, chewing more efficiently, finger feeding, improving swallow control

Every baby develops at their own pace — these milestones are guides, not deadlines.
If feeding feels stressful, or your baby is struggling with any of these steps, early support can help. 💕
