So grateful for kind words like these 💛

This is exactly how therapy should feel: joyful, individualized, and built around the child. Thank you to this wonderful family for trusting us and allowing us to be part of their child’s journey. ✨

The REAL favorites😆 Exploring with the mouth is a normal and important part of early sensory and feeding development.
As a feeding therapist, I love helping families navigate:
• safe oral exploration
• readiness for solids
• reducing stress around feeding
• building positive early experiences
If feeding feels confusing or overwhelming, you’re not alone💛

A fresh new look for Sunrise🤍

The name Sunrise was chosen very intentionally. A sunrise represents a new beginning, and that’s exactly what I hope families feel when they start services. A fresh start, new progress, and the support they need as their child grows, communicates, eats, and gains confidence.

This logo refresh reflects the heart of the practice and the families I’m so grateful to serve every day.

A big thank you to for bringing this vision to life!

Thank you to every family who trusts Sunrise Speech & Feeding with their child’s care. It truly means the world 🤍

Side note: Instagram recommended the most vibey song to go along with this post, and it matches my energy about this new season!

When children are given time, space, and freedom in nature, magic happens🍃

At TimberNook, play isn’t directed or rushed. It’s child-led, meaningful, and developmental.

Through authentic outdoor experiences, children naturally build:
✨Creativity & imagination
🧗‍♂️ Healthy risk-taking & confidence
🤝 Social skills & cooperation
🏃‍♂️ Gross motor strength & coordination
🌱 Child-initiated play & problem-solving
🌀 Sensory processing & regulation

This is the kind of play children need- messy, challenging, joyful, and real. We’re honored to bring these experiences to our community and support the whole child through nature-based play🤍

Wins this week ✨

These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.
💬 A grandpa noticing clear speech
🗣️ A 22-month-old saying 8 brand new words
💛 A 2-year-old using her first two-word phrase

Progress doesn’t always come in big leaps—but every word, every connection, and every proud family moment matters. We’re celebrating these wins and cheering on all the hard work happening behind the scenes.

If you’re wondering whether speech or feeding therapy could help your child, we’re here to support you—one meaningful win at a time.

Communication starts long before words. Through play, children learn turn-taking, imitation, attention, and cause-and-effect, all essential building blocks for speech💬 If you’re wondering why your child isn’t talking yet, we can help💛

Gestures are communication even before words come 💬✨

Pointing, waving, clapping, blowing kisses, shaking “no,” or signing “shh” all help children:
🤍 express wants and needs
🤍 understand language
🤍 build the foundation for spoken words

When we model gestures alongside words during play and routines, we give kids another way to be successful communicators right now.

If your child is using more gestures than words (or you’re not seeing either yet), speech therapy can help support those next steps.

🚫 Skip the sippy cup — and here’s why 👀

Sippy cups are often marketed as a “next step,” but they can actually encourage immature sucking patterns and may impact oral motor development, speech, and dental growth over time.

There are so many great straw and cup options out there, and the goal isn’t perfection — it’s progress and support for developing mouths. 💛

If you’re unsure which cup is right for your child or your child struggles with drinking, feeding, or speech, that’s where individualized guidance can make all the difference.

Language grows best in everyday moments- not drills or flashcards.💛 You don’t need to teach your toddler to talk all day long. Simple shifts in how you play, talk, and respond can make a big difference over time.
✨If you’re wondering whether your child is on track- or feel like you’re doing all the talking- we’re here to help. Early support matters, and it can be playful and pressure-free.

Exclamatory words are often some of the first words children use, and for good reason! 🎉

Words like “uh oh,” “wow,” “wee,” and “oops” are:
✨ short
✨ fun
✨ easy to imitate
✨ packed with meaning

They naturally pop up during play, meals, and daily routines, making them a powerful way to support early language, imitation, and connection.

Tip for parents: say them with excitement, pause, and give your child a chance to copy you. No pressure required 💛

If you’re wondering how to encourage more communication through play and everyday moments, speech therapy can help.
