🍽️ Feeding Milestones: What’s Typical in the First Year? 👶💛
From the very first latch to self-feeding, babies are building the foundations for lifelong feeding and speech skills! 🍼✨
Here’s what to expect:
🌸 Birth–3 months: Rooting, latching, and learning to coordinate suck–swallow–breathe
☀️ 4–6 months: Bringing hands to mouth, sitting supported, showing readiness for solids
🌼 6–9 months: Leaning forward for food, munching, self-feeding, starting cup drinking
🌻 9–12 months: Holding a cup, chewing more efficiently, finger feeding, improving swallow control
Every baby develops at their own pace — these milestones are guides, not deadlines.
If feeding feels stressful, or your baby is struggling with any of these steps, early support can help. 💕
