This is the recommendation of Dr Becker, Dr McCarrell, and the American Optometric Association concerning the viewing of the April 8th solar eclipse.

“Use approved solar eclipse viewers. The only safe way to view a solar eclipse is through special-purpose solar filters, such as "eclipse glasses" or viewers that meet international standard ISO 12312-2 for safe viewing.” IF YOUR SOLAR ECLIPSE GLASSES DO NOT HAVE THAT CERTIFICATION, DO NOT USE. The solar eclipse glasses will clearly have that certification stamped on them. “Sunglasses, smoked glass, unfiltered telescopes or magnifiers, and polarizing filters are unsafe. Inspect your eclipse glasses or handheld viewer before use – if torn, scratched, or otherwise damaged, discard the device.” DO NOT USE. Even a small scratch in the lens can cause irreversible damage to your eyes.

The north entrance to S Michigan Ave from US 12 is closed today. If you have an appointment today, please use the south entrance off of Sauk River to get to our office, or go through the Walgreens parking lot.

Just a heads up for our patients… there is a sign that says “ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC” however if you are coming from US-12 you can bypass the sign and still get to our parking lot and office! Sorry for the inconvenience but looks like this will be going on for a couple months as they have to tear up the road.
